Spaces and Resources

The Spaces and Resources for the Enhancement of Manual Skills and Relationships project was created to meet the increasing demand for developing manual and artisanal skills while addressing the shortage of spaces, equipment, and knowledge accessible to citizens.

The community of artisans and artists in Sassari lacked a shared space where people could bring their ideas to life by participating in practical courses. The project established an accessible space for various types of work - such as woodworking, welding, sewing, and pottery - with guidance from expert artisans. These spaces now allow for organizing courses and workshops, with members able to propose new training opportunities.

The project has promoted manual skills as a means to rediscover traditional, low-impact techniques, while supporting young artisans in launching their micro-activities. Additionally, it has enhanced social interaction and inclusion through intergenerational exchange and the establishment of a local support network.
