CONNECTEEN
Project for combating educational poverty and preventing school dropout.
The CONNECTEEN project is aimed at young people aged 11 to 17, addressing educational poverty. It seeks to prevent school dropout and labor market exclusion by offering individual and community-based training that develops cognitive, social, and knowledge-based skills, facilitating integration into the social and economic life of the city of Sassari.
Over the course of the project, 135 young people embarked on personal and professional growth journeys in four main areas: communication, craftsmanship, design, and event organization. The workshops, consisting of five two-hour sessions, offered young people the chance to collaborate with local artisans and designers to create a line of artisanal products. The activities spanned various fields, including woodworking, pottery, sewing, and screen printing, ensuring high-quality practical training. Artisans, designers, and professionals from the Department of Architecture and Design at the University of Sassari (DADU) guaranteed a high standard of teaching and allowed participants to engage with various industry professionals.
The program offered training and socialization opportunities by rediscovering and expressing manual skills and creativity. The initiative culminated in a major public event that, along with support for families, played a vital role in strengthening the entire community. This was possible thanks to partnerships with thriving local businesses, career guidance activities, and skills assessments. Officine Condivise not only handled the project’s design and technical coordination but also led the training in the design and craft sector in collaboration with DADU.
