Ideas and Worksites in motion
Regeneration of abandoned spaces through community engagement and craft training.
The Ideas and Worksites in motion project aimed at promoting the active participation of young people in the community while facilitating dialogue and interaction with the city of Sassari. The primary objective was to tackle the most pressing social challenges our community faces, grounded in the belief that the creativity and commitment of young people are vital for overcoming these obstacles.
With this objective in mind, Officine Condivise has been undergoing continuous restoration and regeneration efforts since January 2020, when it was still a disused private space. This culminated in April 2022 with the expansion of workshops at the new location on Via Tempio 54, which is connected to the main site on Via Civitavecchia by an internal courtyard. The transformation of these spaces has been accompanied by significant community activation initiatives led by a group of ten young people.
This group of ten individuals, aged between 18 and 35, was formed following a call for community mobilizers. They underwent training during ten meetings, where they mapped local resources, built synergies, and raised awareness in the neighborhood and the city, encouraging active citizen participation in the spaces of Officine Condivise. In May 2023, a four-week workshop series was held, featuring intensive sessions led by professionals and artisans to teach various craft techniques. This project combined hands-on training, community development, and social engagement.
